Maritime Robotics is an internationally leading supplier of Autonomous Navigation Systems and Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USV). We have customers in many different markets, such as seismic, marine aquaculture, defense and science. We also participate in national and international R&D projects to develop ground-breaking technology for unmanned systems. We have our headquarter in Trondheim and manufacturing facilities in Vanvikan.
About the Role
Maritime Robotics is a rapidly growing international company that delivers revolutionary and innovative high-tech solutions to the maritime industry.
As COO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the operational excellence of Maritime Robotics. This leadership position provides a unique opportunity to oversee and optimize our diverse portfolio of projects and operations within transportation, offshore wind, seabed mapping, defense, research, and fish. You will lead with strategic focus and operational precision, ensuring seamless collaboration across internal teams, stakeholders, and resources to achieve success. You will lead Maritime Robotics largest department with six sub-departments with around 40 employees and will be part of the General Managers leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
A key responsibility will be to lead, inspire, and develop your team, fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and high performance while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build a strong culture for safety, quality and continues improvement
  • Lead and optimize operations across a wide range of cutting-edge projects
  • Take charge of the production and processes, provide clear direction to ensure production runs smoothly, with predictability and control
  • Oversee complex projects, including vessel deliveries and the integration of our advanced technology with customer and partner systems
  • Collaborate with R&D teams and industry partners to advance innovative solutions for the maritime sector
  • Financial oversight and resource allocation, take responsibility for developing and managing operational budgets to achieve financial targets
  • Supply chain optimization, overseeing and enhancing supply chain operations, ensuring efficient procurement and logistics for seamless production and project delivery
  • Drive efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability within our operations

Desired Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience in operations leadership or managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Higher education in technology, operations, administration, or finance (BSc, MSc, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of operational best practices, tools, and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team and stakeholder management
  • Maritime experience or familiarity with industries like offshore, defense, or research is a strong advantage
  • Hands-on experience in driving operational improvements
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Location and Travel
The main place of work will be at our headquarters in Trondheim, but this position will require a regular on-site presence in Vanvikan. International travel will also be part of the role.
