About the role

Proserv is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an experienced Electrical Engineer for an initial six-month assignment. You will contribute to ongoing engineering activities and technical deliveries, working closely with Proserv's engineering team.

The assignment is facilitated through ADA AS and has a planned duration of an initial six months, with the possibility of extension. 

You will develop and specify electrical solutions for control and communication equipment, as well as test equipment and technical documentation. The role combines electrical design and calculations with practical support during assembly and testing.

Your responsibilities

• Develop electrical schematics and wiring drawings for topside and subsea equipment.

• Perform electrical calculations, including power consumption, voltage drop, cable sizing and protection.

• Select and specify electrical components, identify suitable suppliers and clarify technical requirements.

• Prepare assembly and test procedures and support the workshop during assembly, testing and troubleshooting.

• Produce clear technical documentation and maintain traceability, revision control and document quality.

• Ensure that equipment and deliveries meet relevant standards and company HSE and QA requirements.

• Contribute to safe handling of electronics, including ESD protection, and continuous improvement of working practices.
  Qualifications

We are looking for someone with sound electrical fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills and a structured approach to documentation.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant education in electrical engineering, electronics, automation, electrical power or power electronics.

• Ability to read and prepare electrical schematics and wiring drawings.

• Understanding of AC and DC systems, power supplies, protection, power distribution, signals and I/O.

• Ability to select electrical components and perform basic electrical calculations.

• Experience with, or a clear understanding of, electrical assembly, testing and systematic troubleshooting.

• Ability to prepare structured technical documentation and test procedures.

• Good written and spoken English.

Desired experience

• At least three years of relevant experience, ideally within subsea, offshore, maritime or another regulated industry.

• Electrical design using AutoCAD and calculations or simulations using TINA or similar tools.

• Control systems, panel design, grounding, shielding and EMC.

• Factory acceptance testing (FAT), system testing and test reporting.

• Familiarity with NEK 400, NORSOK, API 17F or customer-specific offshore requirements.

• Component evaluation, supplier coordination, bills of materials and ERP or PDM systems.
